Nitrogen surplus in kg per ha agricultural land
The following indicators are available at NUTS 2 level and the level of clusters of 1x1 grid cells:
- Nitrogen balances
- Phosphate balance
- Gasesous emissions of Nitrogen, mainly Ammonia
- Emissions of gases relevant for climate change
- Animal stocking densities
- Irrigation shares and irrigation water abstraction
- High Nature value farmland index
all expressed per ha of agricultural land.
The CAPRI nitrogen balance at the NUTS 2 level was used in the Report from the Commission to the Council and the European Parliament on implementation of Council Directive 91/676/EEC concerning the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources for the period 2000-2003 {SEC(2007)339}.
Regional economic and environmental indicators from CAPRI combined with results from the reference run were also the basis for "Section 2.3 Pprospect for selected rural development indicatrors" in the DG-AGRI report "Rural development in the European Union, Statistical and Economic Information, Report 2007".
