- Introductory CAPRI Training Session and GAMS Tutorial Announcement We are thrilled to announce that this year's Introductory CAPRI Training Session will take place from 23 to 26 September 2024. In addition, we are offering a voluntary GAMS tutorial for those with no prior experience with the GAMS modeling language, scheduled from 27 to 30 August 2024. To participate in the course, please register here. Please note that completing a self-study tutorial is a prerequisite for participating in the course. We look forward to your participation!

- CAPRI Developer Meeting 2024 The Capri Developer Meeting 2024 will take place on the 27th-28th February in Berlin (on the Campus Nord of the Humboldt University; Hannoversche Straße 27, 10115 Berlin. Haus 12. (Room 2.01)). For further information please contact: davide.pignotti@thuenen.de. The aim of the CAPRI Advanced Training Session (Developer Meeting) is to organize knowledge transfer between developers, experienced users and other participants in the form of presentations on various new developments in CAPRI. - GAMS pre-course as part of the CAPRI online Training Session 2023 successfully completed!!! The GAMS beginners course took place from 6th-8th September. In three days, 15-20 participants learned the basics of the mathematical programming language GAMS and how it can be used to describe the supply side of CAPRI using a didactic model. Selected environmental indicators at 1x1 km grid resolution- Green House Gas Emissions

The Green House Gas emissions per agricultural production activity are taken currently from the regional CAPRI data base where they are calculated according the guidelines for Green House gas inventories defined by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The following sources are covered:
- Methane emissions from manure management
- Methane emissions from manure management
- Methane emissions from enteric fermentation
- Methane emissions from enteric fermentation
- Direct emissions from animal waste on the field
- Direct emissions from cultivation of histosols
- Direct emissions from crop residues
- Direct emissions from nitrogen fixing crops
- Indirect emissions from ammonia volatilisation
- Indirect emissions from leaching
- Emissions stemming from manure managment not on grazings
- Emissions stemming from manure managment on grazings
- Direct emissions from anorganic fertilizer application
- Direct emissions from fertilizer application not including grassland
- Direct emissions from atmosferic deposition
- Mitrous oxide emissions during fertilizer production
The different emissions are also reported aggregated to CO2 equivalens. It is planned to refine the calculation at grid level by taking e.g. fertilizer application rates into account
